Man Arrested For Flashing Cop’s Badge At Concert

08:01 AM Wednesday 12/28/11 |   |

A central Florida sheriff’s deputy is on administrative duty pending an investigation into a friend’s use of his badge to get better seats at a concert.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says the man flashed the badge to get better seats at the House of Blues in Orlando. According to an arrest report, the man told deputies he wasn’t a law enforcement officer, but his friend William Ross is.

The arrest report states that Ross initially said he gave the man his badge, but he later denied it.

Capt. Angelo Nieves tells the Orlando Sentinel that the sheriff’s office is investigating Ross, who has been relieved of his law enforcement credentials.

Ross’ friend was charged with falsely impersonating an officer and unlawful use of a police badge.
