Esperanza Spalding’s 2011 Grammy victory marked the first time the Recording Academy honored a jazz musician as “Best New Artist,” choosing the bassist/vocalist/composer over Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & The Machine and Mumford & Sons.

Touring in support of her upcoming album, Radio Music Society, scheduled for a March 20 release, Spalding’s latest adventure begins in Buffalo, N.Y., at the Center For The Arts April 18. Other stops include Cleveland at the Metro Campus Auditorium April 19; Boston at the Orpheum Theatre April 22; Seattle’s Paramount Theatre April 24; Los Angeles at The Music Box April 27; Houston’s House Of Blues May 2; Austin at the Paramount Theatre May 5; and Sarotoga Springs, N.Y., at the Performing Arts Center June 30.

Spalding’s non-U.S. schedule includes Paris at La Cigale May 23; London at KoKo May 28; the Ottawa Jazz Festival June 27 and Montreal at Metropolis Theatre June 29.

Some shows are already on sale. Tickets for Buffalo, Cleveland, and New York City go up Friday and Los Angeles goes on sale Saturday. Purchase your tickets via Ticketmaster and you’ll receive a free download of “City Of Roses” from Radio Music Society. Point your browser towards EsperanzaSpalding.com for more information.
