Happening May 19-20 at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, Calif., this year’s “Blues On The Beach” features headliners Gregg Allman and The Steve Miller Band along with Buddy Guy, Los Lonely Boys, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Tab Benoit, Johnny Winter and Imelda May. Expect more artists to be announced.
“Year 15 is a proud milestone for the festival, so we wanted to deliver a legendary, eclectic lineup for the Doheny fans,” Omega Events’ Rich Sherman said. “Gregg Allman rarely performs on the West Coast, and Steve Miller’s influence on blues-rock music cannot be understated. Plus, both Allman and Miller have recorded blues albums this year … so the timing is perfect. This is our way of saying thanks to the loyal supporters of our independent festival.”
This will be the first year the Doheny Blues Festival utilizes the EventBand System, a smart wristband that serves as your ticket as well as your digital wallet. Delivered in advance, you can pack the wristband with value when you purchase it and use it to purchase food and drinks at the festival.
“We’re proud to be one of the first music festivals in North America to utilize RFID wristband technology for both admissions and concession,” Sherman said. “This technology advance is an added benefit for fans … just order your tickets online and leave your wallet at home.”
Weekend passes go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. PDT, single-day and general admission tix go up in March. Tickets will be available via local outlets in April. Check out the Doheny Blues Festival website for more information.
