Spring Shows For St. Vincent

If you didn’t snag tickets to Coachella you can still catch St. Vincent in the states this spring because she’s announced a brand new U.S. tour.

The singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will be showing off tunes from her third studio album, Strange Mercy, which was released in September on 4AD. Earlier this week St. Vincent performed the track “Cheerleader” on Conan O’Brien’s TBS talk show.

After starting her 2012 tour off in Tokyo last week, St. Vincent returns to the road Feb. 21 for a show in Istanbul, Turkey, at Salon Iksv. Additional European dates are booked Feb. 22 through March 2 with stops in Italy, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands and Portugal. A round of Australian dates is scheduled March 8-14.

St. Vincent will perform both weekends of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival with Saturday performances April 14 and April 21 in Indio, Calif., at the Empire Polo Club. She’s also teaming up with the tUnE-yArDs for two shows April 17 in Tucson, Ariz., at the Rialto Theatre and April 24 in Oakland, Calif., at the Fox Theater.

The new U.S. tour begins May 3 in Providence, R.I., at Lupo’s.

Stops include Buffalo, N.Y. (May 5); Columbus, Ohio (May 8); Cincinnati (May 9); Indianapolis (May 10); Chicago (May 11); Minneapolis (May 12); Tulsa, Okla. (May 15); Atlanta (May 19); Nashville (May 21) and Carrboro, N.C. (May 23). The last gig on the route is May 24 in Richmond, Va., at The National.

Tune in to SiriusXM Jan. 25 for St. Vincent’s SiriusXMU session on Ch. 35 at 9 p.m. EST. The show will be broadcast Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. EST, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. EST, and Jan. 29 at 12 p.m. EST. This week she’s co-hosting on the indie rock channel.
