Scheduled for June 28-July 1 at the Double JJ Ranch near Rothbury, Mich., the second annual Electric Forest will also feature performances by Girl Talk, Santigold, Steve Aoki, Ghostland Observatory, Richie Hawtin, Major Lazer, Big Gigantic, The Travelin’ McCourys featuring Keller Williams plus many more.
While it’s way too early for organizers to lock down daily schedules, String Cheese Incident will perform three times during the festival. Bassnectar and ST9 will perform twice.
If you just experienced a twinge of the ol’ déjà vu, it’s because the Double JJ Ranch was the home of the Rothbury festival in 2008 and 2009.
Electric Forest is working on curated events with ELS Music, Dim Mak, Check Yo Ponytail and Paxahau that will be hosted on the Tripolee, Forest and Wagon Wheel stages throughout the weekend.
There’s a philanthropic angle to Electric Forest with the festival announcing two initiatives – the Roy Price Memorial Food Drive and the festival’s Music In Schools Program which helps to support music education in local area public schools.
