Marilyn Manson’s Cruel World Tour

04:01 PM Wednesday 2/15/12 |   |

The one and only Marilyn Manson and his band are returning to the road with their first set of 2012 U.S. tour dates along with previously announced gigs in Australia, Japan and Europe.

The new dates are Manson’s first shows since 2009’s tour in support of The High End Of Low. The band is now getting ready to release its eighth full-length album, Born Villain.

Manson revealed the album’s title in September with a statement on the band’s website that discussed his collaboration with actor Shia LaBeouf on the short film also named “Born Villain.”

“‘Born Villain’ is the title of the new Marilyn Manson album. While looking to experiment in unlikely collaborations, I met Shia, and we spent a long night at my studio. After seeing ‘Maniac,’ his short film, which is somewhat inspired by ‘Man Bites Dog,’ I was astonished by his directing ability. So I shared quite a few of my favorite inspirations in art, literature, and obviously … film. I was impressed with how Shia digested my world, and made what I’d like to think, is both an homage and a mockery of the history of Cinema. We ended up writing a short film, and just recently released a trailer. The score is from my new album, and is, in the words of Macbeth, ‘full of sound and fury.’”

The new album is expected to be released in May.

Fantastic news! Can't wait to watch Manson live again. They are incredible. Come on down to Florida although I will definitely be flying in for the first leg of the U.S tour. Born Villain will be great.

"The core of a woman is where her body chooses to revolve like a corpse." For me, the only place to find church, the only place to belong - is at a concert. The only concert's I care about and attend are Marilyn Manson's! You get what you give; and I give him everything.... thecampaignbook.com/events.html "I rape the raper" etc to be translated as ad infinitum
