Governors Ball 2012 Lineup

04:01 PM Tuesday 2/21/12 | |

The lineup for this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival is in place featuring Beck, Passion Pit, Modest Mouse and Duck Sauce.

The second annual festival takes place June 23-24. Although the event is keeping the same name, the fest is relocating from New York City’s Governors Island to Randall’s Island, a green space on the East River between East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens.

The new location will include improved venue facilities and multiple transportation options. Governors Ball Music Festival will provide shuttle bus service from Williamsburg Brooklyn and ferry service from Mid-Town Manhattan to and from the festival grounds. Fans can also get to the festival from bus, foot, bike, car and cab.

The first day of the festival will mirror the inaugural Governors Ball lineup, highlighting dance, hip hop and electronica acts. Passion Pit and Duck Sauce perform June 23 along with Chromeo, Atmosphere, Major Lazer, Santigold, Big Gigantic, Penguin Prison, Walk The Moon, Art Vs. Science, K. Flay and Nobody Beats The Drum.

Sunday’s bill will focus on indie rock, Americana and pop. That means Beck and Modest Mouse headline June 24 with help from Explosions In The Sky, Devendra Banhart, Cage The Elephant, Built To Spill, Cults, Phantogram, Freelance Whales, Alberta Cross, The Jezabels and Turf War.
