Governors Ball 2012 Lineup

The lineup for this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival is in place featuring Beck, Passion Pit, Modest Mouse and Duck Sauce.

The second annual festival takes place June 23-24. Although the event is keeping the same name, the fest is relocating from New York City’s Governors Island to Randall’s Island, a green space on the East River between East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens.

The new location will include improved venue facilities and multiple transportation options. Governors Ball Music Festival will provide shuttle bus service from Williamsburg Brooklyn and ferry service from Mid-Town Manhattan to and from the festival grounds. Fans can also get to the festival from bus, foot, bike, car and cab.

The first day of the festival will mirror the inaugural Governors Ball lineup, highlighting dance, hip hop and electronica acts. Passion Pit and Duck Sauce perform June 23 along with Chromeo, Atmosphere, Major Lazer, Santigold, Big Gigantic, Penguin Prison, Walk The Moon, Art Vs. Science, K. Flay and Nobody Beats The Drum.

Sunday’s bill will focus on indie rock, Americana and pop. That means Beck and Modest Mouse headline June 24 with help from Explosions In The Sky, Devendra Banhart, Cage The Elephant, Built To Spill, Cults, Phantogram, Freelance Whales, Alberta Cross, The Jezabels and Turf War.

Festival organizers promise that fans won’t miss out on any act thanks to two stages with no overlapping sets.

A limited number of pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 5 a.m. EST via Living Social. The special Living Social package includes a two-day festival ticket, roundtrip ferry transportation and a $10 festival merch voucher.

The general onsale begins sale Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. EST. A limited amount of general admission two-day advance tickets will be available for $160 (plus a $15 fee). VIP two-day advance tickets are priced at $300 (plus a $20 fee) and include access to the VIP lounge with shade, seating, massage services and more. Single-day tickets will also be available in addition to ferry, shuttle and parking tickets.
