Newport Folk Festival Announces Lineup

Set for July 28-29 at Fort Adams State Park, this year’s Newport Folk Festival will also welcome the Guthrie Family Reunion, Dawes, The Head And The Heart, Deer Tick, Punch Brothers, City & Colour, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and more.

The folks at the Newport Festivals Foundation are making it easy for you by releasing each day’s lineup, giving you a blueprint for planning your own folk music festival agenda.

Saturday, July 28 will feature My Morning Jacket, Iron & Wine, Patty Griffin, Guthrie Family Reunion, Dawes, City and Colour, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Deer Tick, Blind Pilot, Alabama Shakes, Sharon Van Etten, First Aid Kit, Brown Bird, Jonny Corndawg, Frank Fairfield, Spirit Family Reunion, Robert Ellis, The Apache Relay, Honeyhoney and The Sleepy Man Banjo Boys.

Appearing Sunday, July 29 will be Jackson Browne, Conor Oberst, Punch Brothers, Tallest Man On Earth, The Head And The Heart, tUnE-yArDs, Gary Clark Jr., Trampled By Turtles, Tom Morello, Of Monsters and Men, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Sara Watkins, Carl Broemel, Ben Sollee, Spider John Koerner, Jonathan Wilson, Deep Dark Woods, Joe Fletcher & The Wrong Reasons, Kossoy Sisters and Joel Rafael.

Also appearing Sunday will be New Multitudes featuring Jay Farrar, Will Johnson, Anders Parker and Yim Yames performing original music set to Woody Guthrie’s lyrics.

Tickets are on sale now, but you need to act fast. A limited number of adult two-day passes are available for $135. Single-day adult tickets are currently priced at $74 but will go up to $84 at the gate. That is, if any tickets are left to sell at the gate.
