The Cult Friends Ozzy

10:01 AM Tuesday 3/6/12 |   |

The Cult’s summer Euro calendar is taking shape with the band playing several headline shows and festivals as well as a one-off with the Ozzy And Friends tour.

Announced in mid-February The Ozzy Osbourne & Friends tour is scheduled to play some of the dates originally listed on the Black Sabbath reunion tour. However, guitarist Tony Iommi battle with lymphoma resulted in the band postponing most of its journey and Osbourne and Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler along with Zakk Wylde plus other guests going forth as “Ozzy And Friends.”

You can now add The Cult to the list of Ozzy’s friends with the band appearing in Belgrade, Serbia, at USCE Park.

Then it’s off to the Axl Rose universe with Ian Astbury & Co. appearing with Guns N’ Roses at the See Rock Festival in Graz, Austria, June 29 and the Rock The City Festival in Bucharest, Romania, July 1. Other festival stops include Rock Zottegem in Zomergem, Belgium, July 2; Bospop in Weert, Netherlands July 8; and Mares Vivas Festival in Gaia, Portugal July 19.

Headline gigs include Split, Croatia, at Spaladium Arena July 3; Aviano, Italy, at Velvet Rock July 14; and Madrid at La Riviera July 18.

The Cult will have some new music for the tour. The band’s first new album in five years – Choice Of Weapon – drops May 22.
