The 14th annual festival is set for Aug. 3-5 in Happy Valley, Ore., at Pendarvis Farm. Pickathon features lush meadows and forested campgrounds complete with “classic wooded Oregon hiking trails.” Along with six stages with 50 acts, the weekend offers several musical workshops taught by select performers as well as plenty of “affordable, organic, local and sustainable food and drink menu options.” The event prides itself on its environmentally-friendly philosophy, which includes working to eliminate all plastic water bottles and cups as well as single-use dishware and utensils.
This year’s lineup also boasts Kitty, Daisy & Lewis; Vieux Farka Toure; Heartless Bastards; The Wood Brothers; Phosphorescent; Hot 8 Brass Band; The Cave Singers; Handsome Furs; Abigail Washburn; Cass McCombs; Lost Bayou Ramblers & Gordon Gano; Sonny & The Sunsets; Langhorne Slim and Alela Diane.
In addition to the $175 weekend tickets selling out, the RV parking, camp in your car weekend parking, and camp near your car weekend parking have also sold out.
An announcement from Pickathon explains that the festival is now “down to the final batch of tickets that will be sold for 2012.” All remaining weekend tickets will be priced at $190. These passes include tent camping space but parking must be purchased separately. Weekend parking passes are available for $55.
A small batch of single-day tickets will be sold at a later date. The full daily schedule and a few more acts will be announced in April.
