The electronic music festival, which is produced by Insomniac Events, will take over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 8-10. The site is located 14 miles from the Las Vegas strip.
Although Insomniac Events hasn’t issued an official announcement, MTV News reports that the phase one lineup also boasts Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Sebastian Ingrosso, Benny Benassi, Armin Van Buuren, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Chase & Status, David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Flux Pavilion, Kaskade, Knife Party, Porter Robinson and Richie Hawtin.
The 2011 Las Vegas EDC welcomed more than 230,000 fans. This year EDC is planning on 300,000 attendees, according to MTV News.
Insomniac Events founder Pasquale Rotella talked to MTV News about what fans can expect in June, promising the full roster will have hundreds of EDM acts and that entertainment will include more than 500 theatrical performers, over 30 carnival rides, large-scale art installments and tons of fireworks.
“It’s about the whole experience,” Rotella told MTV News. “We are not a concert. We are so much more than that – it’s about the production, it’s about the art. The music being played is the soundtrack to your experience for the evening.”
You might have recently seen Rotella’s name in the news. He and five others were named in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum case’s 29-count indictment on charges of conspiracy, embezzlement, bribery and conflict of interest. Last month Insomniac Events released a statement telling fans that Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival and other shows would go on as planned.
“It is business as usual for Insomniac,” Insomniac Inc. said in a statement, according to the Los Angeles Times. “The company has a robust leadership team in place implementing Mr. Rotella’s vision and no events will be impacted.”
The Las Vegas festival marks the 16th annual Electric Daisy Carnival. Before debuting in Sin City in 2011, the fest was held in Southern California. EDC has also hosted events in Colorado, Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico. This year EDC will return to Puerto Rico although specific dates haven’t been announced yet. The New York edition of EDC is being held May 19-20 in nearby East Rutherford, N.J., at the MetLife Stadium.
Three-day general admission passes for EDC Las Vegas are on sale now for $275. VIP passes are priced at $500.
