Swing Lo Magellan is set for release July 10 in North America on Domino Records.
Domino describes the 12 tracks of Swing Lo Magellan as “a collection of moments: accidental, fortuitous, spontaneous. The performances feel warm and imperfect. Unguarded intimacy is somewhat of a new look for this band, and it turns out it's a very good look. … The album has both the handmade intimacy of a love letter and the widescreen grandeur of a blockbuster, and if that sounds like a paradox –it’s because it was until now.”
The Dirty Projectors’ summer road trip kicks off in Canada with headline shows at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall July 6, Montreal’s Club Soda July 7 and Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom July 24.
U.S. stops include Pittsburgh at Mr. Small’s Theatre July 11; Denver’s Bluebird Theatre July 20; Los Angeles’ The Wiltern July 28; Dallas’ Kessler Theater Aug. 3; Orlando, Fla., at The Beacham Aug. 6; Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse Aug. 9; Louisville, Ky., at Headliners Music Hall Aug. 14; and Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club Aug. 16.
