New North American Dates For The Hives

05:01 PM Tuesday 4/24/12 |   |

After a quick outbreak of dates in April, including the band’s awesome Coachella sets, The Hives will be back in the states in June for a brief North American tour.

The new dates coincide with the release of the Swedish garage rockers’ fifth album, Lex Hives, due out June 5 on the band’s own Disques Hives label. The album is the first full-length release from the band since 2007’s The Black and White Album.

Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist and his partners in crime begin their next North American excursion June 19 in Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club. Then it’s off to Philadelphia to play the Electric Factory June 20, followed by New York City’s Terminal 5 June 22 and Boston’s House Of Blues June 23.

Canadian gigs are scheduled at Montreal’s Metropolis June 25 and Toronto’s Sound Academy June 26.

The last U.S. dates on the route are Pontiac, Mich., at Clutch Cargo’s June 27; “Summerfest” at Milwaukee’s Henry Maier Festival Park June 29; and Chicago’s Vic Theatre June 30.

A presale select dates begins April 25. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 27.
