Cocker, Lang, Dukes To Headline Jazz Aspen Snowmass June Fest

As if you need a reason to spend some quality time in the Colorado Rockies, Joe Cocker, k.d. lang and the Dukes Of September have signed on to headline the Jazz Aspen Snowmass June Festival.

The Dukes Of September – Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen along with Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald – will launch the festival at the Benedict Music Tent June 22.

Cocker will headline the Benedict Music Tent June 23 while k.d. lang concludes the festival’s first weekend with her first JAS appearance, playing the tent June 24.

The festival keeps on going after the launch weekend with two weeks of intimate performances at the JAS Café Downstairs at Little Nell. Featured will be Hot Club Of Detroit June 30, Cuban band Wil Campa Y su Gran Union July 5; Lucien Barbarin and the New Orleans Rhythm Revue July 6 and Raul Midon Aug. 10-11. Expect more artists to be announced.

Closing the festival will be jazzman Chris Botti with special guest Caroline Campbell at the Benedict Music Tent July 7, a performance in association with the Aspen Music Festival and School.

And don’t forget about the JAS pre-concert lawn party at the Benedict Music Tent June 22-24, complete with live music and plenty of food and drink.
