Recording sessions for the band’s first studio album since 2005’s Rebel, Sweetheart, finds the band at Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville. Produced by Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, Cage the Elephant) and mixed by Rich Costey (Bruce Springsteen, The Shins), the album will be released by Columbia Records this fall.

As to the lineup, these days The Wallflowers consist of original members Jakob Dylan, bassist Greg Richling and keyboardist Rami Jaffee along with longtime members Stuart Mathis on guitars and drummer Jack Irons.

Right now The Wallflowers have a short list of dates – four summer shows and one fall booking – although the band promises that more are on the way. Here’s the current schedule:

July 20 – Dover, Del., Firefly Music Festival
July 24 – New York City, N.Y., Bowery Ballroom
July 25 – Asbury Park, N.J., The Stone Pony
July 27 – Chicago, Ill., Schubas
Sept. 23 – Pensacola, Fla., De Luna Fest
