Austin City Limits Reveals 2012 Lineup

11:01 AM Tuesday 5/22/12 | |

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Black Keys, Jack White, Florence & The Machine and The Avett Brothers will headline this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Happening at Austin’s Zilker Park Oct. 12-14, festival organizers have already set ACL daily schedules showing The Black Keys and Florence & The Machine playing Oct. 12; Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Jack White Oct. 13; and Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Avett Brothers closing on Oct. 14.

The first day of the Austin City Limits Music Festival will include performances by Avicii, Weezer, Tegan and Sara, Thievery Corporation, The Afghan Whigs, Esperanza Spalding and Alabama Shakes.

The Roots, Bassnectar, The Shins, Gotye, Andrew Bird, Metric, Band Of Skulls, Rufus Wainwright and Big Gigantic are among the acts featured on the second day. Day three acts include Iggy & The Stooges, The Civil Wars, Childish Gambino, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles and Gary Clark Jr.

But that’s just a quick survey of the lineup, and you really need to see each day’s list of performers to appreciate the depth and breadth of the festival.

Festival organizers teased fans last week via the ACL Lineup Lottery which consisted of Lotto-like scratch-and-win tickets distributed by local merchants. Not only did the tickets ultimately reveal lineup details, but some fans won prizes, including tickets to this year’s blowout.

As of May 22, tickets are available only for loyal ACL E-list subscribers who registered for the presale last week during a designated time period. Ticket information will be updated the morning of May 23. For more information, visit ACLFestival.com.
