Louis C.K. To Headline JFL42

04:01 PM Wednesday 5/23/12 |   |

Promising plenty of laughs, brand new JFL42 festival kicks off in Toronto Sept. 21-28.

The “JFL” part of the moniker comes from Just For Laughs, the outfit known for staging comedy festivals, tours and other humorous events. The first ever JFL42 comes to you via an alliance between Just For Laughs and those fun-luvin’ folks at Live Nation.

And the number 42? That’s how many funny people, performances, attractions and experiences are planned for the festival with headliner Louis C.K. designated No. 1. Playing four concerts at Toronto’s Sony Centre, the comedian tops a yet-to-be disclosed lineup described as consisting of “cool stars, small stars and soon-to-be stars” performing at various venues throughout the city.

Festival organizers are proclaiming JFL42 will be “designed by and for its pass holders.” With the event’s smart-phone-based passes, not only can festivalgoers use their iPhones and Androids to gain access to all shows, but they can also influence JFL42 by creating demand for each event and possibly influence the decision-making process when it comes to adding shows or upsizing to larger venues.

Each festival pass includes a reserved seat for one of Louis C.K.’s Sony Centre shows scheduled Sept. 27-28. Passes go on sale May 25. Visit JFL42.com for everything you need to know.
