Kasey Chambers’ Summer In The U.S.A.

11:01 AM Wednesday 5/30/12 | |

The Australian songstress returns to the States in support of her new album scheduled to be released this summer.

Kasey Chambers is looking at a brief outing launching on the West Coast and taking place during the first half of August. While some individual dates were previously released by venues, Chambers’ newly updated schedule brings us new listings for California, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland and Texas.

Chamber’s new album, Storybook, arrives in stores July 30 on Sugar Hill Records.

Here’s the plan:

Aug. 2 – Santa Monica, Calif., Santa Monica Pier
Aug. 4 – Portland, Ore., Aladdin Theater
Aug. 5 – Seattle, Wash., The Triple Door
Aug. 7 – San Francisco, Calif., The Fillmore
Aug. 8 – Santa Cruz, Calif., Rio Theatre
Aug. 10 – Alexandria, Va., Birchmere
Aug. 11 – New York City, N.Y., City Winery
Aug. 12 – Northampton, Mass., Iron Horse Music Hall
Aug. 13 – Annapolis, Md., Rams Head On Stage
Aug. 15 – Dallas, Texas, The Kessler Theater
Aug. 16 – Austin, Texas., One World Theatre
Aug. 18 – Lyons, Colo., Planet Bluegrass Ranch (Appearing at “Rocky Mountain Folks Fest” )

Chambers is presenting Storybook as the “musical accompaniment” to her autobiography “A Little Bird Told Me,” which was published by Harper Collins in Australia. Described as a tribute to artists who inspired her, the album includes Chambers covering songs by Gram Parsons, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, John Prine, Suzanne Vega and Townes Van Zandt.

“This album is a collection of songs and tributes to artists who have influenced me from when I was a small child up until now,” Chambers said. “I can honestly say that I would not be who I am today without the music from these incredible singer/songwriters and their inspiration.”

Some shows are already on sale. Head on over to KaseyChambers.com for more information.
