Guitar virtuoso Steve Vai cranks out a solo tour beginning in Florida in August.

Vai will have new music for the tour. His upcoming album, The Story Of Light, drops Aug. 14 on Favored Nations Entertainment.

Playing mostly theatres and large clubs, Vai begins the adventure in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., at Revolution Aug. 15 and rumbles through the land, stopping in places such as Nashville (Aug. 21), Atlanta (Aug. 23), Washington, D.C. (Aug. 28), Lancaster, Pa. (Sept. 2), New York City (Sept. 11), Quebec City (Sept. 17), Cleveland (Sept. 24), Denver (Oct. 1) and Seattle (Oct. 4). Last stop is Agoura Hills, Calif., at the Canyon Club Oct. 13.
