Riot Fest Expands Beyond The Windy City

Riot Fest isn’t just for Chicago anymore. The music festival is returning to Philadelphia for a second year and is expanding to Dallas, Brooklyn and Toronto.

In its 8th year, Chicago’s Riot Fest has morphed from an indoors event into an indoor/outdoor blowout. Taking place during the Sept. 14-16 weekend, Chicago’s Congress Theater will be the venue for Friday while Saturday and Sunday happen in the city’s Humboldt Park.

While lineups vary per city, the list of bands appearing on two or more Riot Fests includes The Gaslight Anthem, Refused, Descendents, Gogol Bordello, Hot Water Music, Awolnation and Off With Their Heads. Chicago’s Riot Fest & Carnival lineup includes Iggy & The Stooges, Elvis Costello,The Offspring, and a reunited Chiodos.

Here’s your Riot Fest schedule along with lineups:

July 19 – Philadelphia, Pa., Festival Pier – Refused, The Promise Ring, August Burns Red, Off!, Gameface, Boy Sets Fire and HIRS.

Sept. 8 – Brooklyn, N.Y., Williamsburg Park – Gogol Bordello, Descendents, Hot Water Music, The Bronx, Screaming Females, The Menzingers and Larry & His Flask.

Sept. 9 – Toronto, Ontario, Fort York – Descendents, NOFX, F**ked Up, Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake, Andrew W.K., The Lawrence Arms, Mockingbird Wish Me Luck, Organ Thieves and Junior Battles.

Sept. 22 – Dallas, Texas, Gexa Energy Pavilion – Rise Against, Descendents, NOFX, The Gaslight Anthem, Less Than Jake, Andrew W.K., The Sword, Municipal Waste, Teenage Bottlerocket, Off With Their Heads, Messengers, The News Can Wait, Fever Dreamer, Mouth Of The South, The American Heist, Venomus Mansions and Not In The Face.
