Mayhem For Vets

04:31 PM Tuesday 6/19/12 | |

Once again the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is helping America’s military veterans find jobs via the tour’s “Metal Of Honor” program.

Launching near San Bernardino in Devore, Calif., at the San Manuel Amphitheatre June 30, this year’s Mayhem Festival tour features Slipknot, Slayer and Motorhead on the main stage along with an opening rotation that includes As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada and Asking Alexandria. Playing the country’s finest amphitheatres, Mayhem crosses the continent, never resting until that very last gig in Hartford, Conn., Aug. 5.

Along with serving up a heapin’ helpin’ of metal at every stop, this year’s Mayhem will have the “Metal Of Honor” tent where a local U.S. Chamber Of Commerce representative will give out information on companies seeking to hire vets.

But the “Metal Of Honor” is only one of many ways Mayhem is helping veterans. Beginning June 22 at 10 a.m. local time and continuing for 72 hours, a donation will be made to local charities for every individual lawn seat sold through the Text To Donate program. Plus, by texting MAYHEM to 41518 and making a $5 donation to Metal Of Honor, you’ll be entered to win the program’s meet-and-greet with Slipknot.

There’s also a contest for veterans visiting the Metal Of Honor Tent. It’s a raffle where the winning vet will be honored with a commemorative plaque presented to him or her on the main stage.
