Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Targets Fall

11:01 AM Monday 6/25/12 | |

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion announces a fall journey coinciding with the release of the band’s first studio album in eight years.

Promising “12 prime cuts of raw rock ’n’ roll,” the new album, titled Meat And Bone, was recorded in Benton Harbor, Mich., using Sly Stone’s “Riot Flickinger” console. Mixed in New York City, the album is being described as “straight-up grade-a Blues Explosion.” What’s more, in a world where almost every album includes a guest appearance by another artist, Meat And Bone proudly boasts “no special guests.”

Meat And Bone drops Sept. 18 through Boombox/Mom + Pop.

Playing mostly clubs, the fall tour begins in Philadelphia during the first week of October and keeps on going until mid-November when it wraps in British Columbia.
