Odds & Ends: Madonna, Summer Olympics & Chris Brown Vs. Drake

02:01 PM Wednesday 6/27/12 |   |

A boxing promoter offers Chris Brown and Drake $1 million apiece to duke it out; the Summer Olympics reportedly finds its “Muse” and don’t bother looking for any traces of Madonna’s DNA after her MDNA Tour plays your town.

Eye Of The Tiger?

That dustup between entourages belonging to Chris Brown and Drake continues to hog its 15 minutes of fame.

The wannabe rumble that took place at New York City’s W.I.P. June 14 has resulted in lawsuits, one injured sports celeb, and the club, along with its adjacent Greenhouse establishment, losing its liquor license.

Now a boxing promoter known for staging matches pitting celebrities against each other, has offered Drake and Brown a cool $1 million each if they’ll climb into the ring.

Damon Feldman is the man attempting to make the dream match reality. The celeb boxing promoter said billionaire soda bottling heir Alki David is not only providing the money but will donate an additional $1 million to charity if Brown and Drake agree to put up their dukes, according to the New York Daily News.

Presenting the match as a pay-per-view originating in Las Vegas or Los Angeles, Feldman has an Aug. 25 target date.

So far, there’s been no word as to whether Feldman’s offer is getting any serious attention by either camp. A Brown representative told the Daily News that they had “never heard” of the offer.

The rumble at W.I.P. supposedly began after members of Drake’s entourage reportedly taunted Brown and his entourage with remarks about Rihanna, whom Drake has dated and whom Brown infamously pummeled in Los Angeles the night before the Grammy Awards three years ago.

The W.I.P. brawl reportedly resulted in an injury to Brown’s chin. However, his friend, Tony Parker, the French basketball player who plays for the San Antonio Spurs, experienced much worse, having to undergo surgery for an injury to his left eye. According to the Daily News, the injury may force Parker to miss playing for France’s basketball team in the Summer Olympics.

No DNA in MDNA

Evidently Madonna doesn’t want to leave anything behind after she leaves the building following one of her MDNA shows.

London’s Mirror newspaper reports Maddy has a “sterilisation team” sweeping her dressing room to ensure that she hasn’t left any DNA traces, such as “hairs, skin or saliva.”

The paper quotes Alvaro Ramos, the concert promoter for Madonna’s Portugal shows, as saying the Material Girl’s dressing room restrictions are unprecedented.

“We have to take extreme care, like I have never seen for any other artist,” Ramos reportedly said.

“We cannot even look at the dressing room, after it is ready, or even open the door. We can only enter after her sterilisation team has left the room. There will not be any of Madonna’s DNA, any hair, or anything. They will clean up everything, in the end it is all to protect her and make her feel comfortable. I do understand it, but it is taken to extremes.”

Ramos also said Madonna’s people construct “fake ceilings and fake walls” in her dressing rooms “so they can ensure that no one has hidden a camera somewhere.”

No word on whether she’s cool with brown M&Ms.

Olympics Wanna Rock

People attending the Olympics in London are going to hear a lot of Muse. The Brit band is one of five acts tapped to write original songs for the summer games. The other four official songs come from Delphic, Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal and the Elton John vs Pnau mashup.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) announced that Muse’s “Survival” will be played at various competitions. The committee also said Scissor Sisters and Rizzle Kicks are among several acts scheduled to play surprise gigs at Olympic venues.

Evidently the Olympics won’t be short on music. The committee has compiled a library of 2,012 songs expressing five music themes – energy, primetime, extreme, heritage and world stage – to be used during the games.

Hmmm … Do you suppose they’ve scheduled any tunes by Chris Brown or Drake to be played during Olympic boxing matches? The mind boggles at the possibilities.
