Exodus To Headline ‘Slaughter By The Water 3’

12:01 PM Wednesday 8/1/12 |   |

Ear-scorching rock from headliner Exodus onboard a supposedly haunted USS aircraft carrier. Think you can handle it?

Hosted by Testament’s Chuck Billy, this year’s Slaughter By The Water takes place Aug. 25 onboard the USS Hornet docked in Alameda, Calif. The lineup includes Philm, Severed Fifth, Absu, Witchhaven, Impaled, Autopsy, Fog Of War and Abysmal Dawn, plus any disembodied spirits that might be attending.

Turns out the USS Hornet is a big attraction on the ghost circuit. Haunted-Places-To-Go.com describes the ship, nicknamed “The Grey Ghost In Alameda” as “one of the most haunted places in America” and says more crewmen have committed suicide on the aircraft carrier than on “any other ship in this military branch.” The website also notes that there have been reports of disappearing tools, objects mysteriously moving about, and people claiming to have seen several “apparitions that are dressed in soldier attire.”

Tickets are on sale now. All main stage tickets entitle you to a discounted admission rate to freely explore Hornet between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. There are also private tours of the ship. For more information, click here for Slaughter By The Water’s Facebook page.
