Spice Girls, Kate Bush On Olympics Closing Lineup?

12:01 PM Friday 8/10/12 |   |

The entertainment lineup for the Olympics Closing Ceremony is supposed to be super-secret, but that hasn’t stopped London’s press from rooting out some answers, saying that the Spice Girls, Kaiser Chiefs and Pet Shop Boys are among the artists appearing Sunday.

London’s Sun newspaper has published photos showing the Spice Girls emerging from rehearsals for Sunday’s big event. At this time only four acts – George Michael, Ed Sheeran, One Direction and Muse have confirmed their participation, according to the Sun.

Who else has been seen in the vicinity of the rehearsals taking place at a Ford factory in Dagenham? Some of the names bandied by the press include Queen guitarist Brian May, Kate Bush, Fatboy Slim, Kaiser Chiefs, Madness and the Pet Shop Boys as well as funny guys Eric Idle and Russell Brand.

There are also reports claiming Ray Davies and Elton John will appear. Paul McCartney, who performed at the opening ceremony, is also rumored to be on Sunday’s lineup which is beginning to read like a Who’s Who of Brit pop.

Olympics Closing Ceremony music director David Arnold has already expressed his disdain for leaks about his all-star list of performers, saying the premature guessing game is akin to revealing what someone is receiving for Christmas before Dec. 25 arrives.
