Changes: R. Kelly, Frank Ocean

12:01 PM Monday 8/13/12 |   |

You can forget about R. Kelly sailing the high seas come October. While we’re at it, you can scratch Frank Ocean from a few festival dates as well as Coldplay’s Euro tour as vocal problems put the R&B singer out of action.

R. Kelly was set to headline the Love Letter cruise, a five day Miami-to-Nassau adventure scheduled for Oct. 1-6. Now it looks as if he’s going to remain on dry land instead.

Evidently a business decision nixed Kelly’s cruise participation. TMZ reports the singer pulled out of the voyage because he hadn’t yet received payment for the two shows he was to perform during the journey.

At post time the Concert Cruise website was still listing Kelly as its Love Letter headliner although TMZ reports the company has already sent emails to its customers advising them of the lineup change.

The gossip site also quoted a Kelly representative saying that fans will be able to see their idol “very soon on a U.S. tour.”

Frank Ocean is no longer on Coldplay’s Europe tour. The singer cut short his performance at Norway’s Oya Music Festival Aug. 9 and then nixed his remaining dates, blaming vocal problems for his sudden change in plans.

Scheduled to play Sweden’s Way Out West festival, Ocean posted a message on the event’s Facebook page saying he’s sorry things turned out this way.

“Let me start by saying I feel like an asshole right now,” Ocean wrote. “But a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision including my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour. Sorry as fuck, I’ll be back if you’ll have me.”
