Kenny Loggins’ Blue Sky Riders Tour

05:01 PM Thursday 8/23/12 |   |

Get ready for the Blue Sky Riders to ride through your town. Three weeks from today Kenny Loggins will join Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr on the road for the trio’s first national headline tour.

Loggins was able to play his own support act when the Blue Sky Riders opened for the singer/songwriter this summer. Now it’s the trio’s turn to take the spotlight.

Blue Sky Riders came together after Loggins and Burr (who has been named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and worked with artists including Juice Newton, Conway Twitty and Wynonna) started writing songs together. Loggins decided he wanted to form a new band featuring a third, female voice and took up Burr’s suggestion to ask Middleman to join the group. Middleman has written songs for Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Reba, in addition to working with acts including Faith Hill and Martina McBride.

During the tour the band will perform tunes from their upcoming self-titled debut album, due out Jan. 22.

The excursion begins Sept. 13 in Kent, Ohio, and includes five nights at New York City’s Feinstein’s At The Regency.
