An “unruly” passenger reportedly caused a JetBlue airliner heading from Boston to Los Angeles to divert to Austin. Turns out the passenger was Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin.
Although details are sketchy, TMZ, citing a “source with airport security,” reported the incident began when the flight crew wouldn’t sell him alcohol.
Regardless of the reason, Scantlin was arrested for public intoxication and faces an additional charge of interfering with a flight crew. He was booked into the Travis County Jail.
“The flight was diverted to Austin due to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle Of Mudd,” authorities said, according to E! Online. “Once the plane landed the officers did their investigation and deemed that the individual was intoxicated and was placed under arrest for public intoxication.”
E! Online also notes that Scantlin pleaded “guilty” to cocaine possession in July but managed to avoid any jail time by agreeing to complete a drug counseling program.
