Smooth Jazz Cruise Goes West

The Smooth Jazz Cruise has set dates for two voyages. In addition to once again setting sail from Florida for the Caribbean in 2014, “the greatest party at sea” will launch its first ever West Coast outing from Southern California to Mexico ports in 2013.

Both 7-day cruises will feature performances from Brian Culbertson, Boney James, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Jonathan Butler, Candy Dulfer, DW3 and comedian Alonzo Bodden aboard Hollard America’s MS Westerdam.

The West Coast adventure is scheduled Oct. 12-19, 2013. After departing from San Diego, the cruise will visit Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and the Baja Coast.

Hosted by Culbertson and James, the West Coast cruise includes the acts mentioned above as well as Rick Braun, Norman Brown, Richard Elliot, Euge Groove, Kenny Lattimore, Earl Klugh, Oleta Adams and special guest Tower of Power.

The 2014 Caribbean cruise takes place Jan. 12-19. The journey begins in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with stops planned for Turks & Caicos, San Juan, St. Maarten and Half Moon Cay.

Sanborn and Miller host the 2014 cruise, which also features Kirk Whalum, Peter White, Sheila E., Keb Mo, Keiko Matsui, Maysa Leak, Mindi Abair and special guest Jeffrey Osborne.

Fans will have the chance to hang out with the musicians at cocktail parties, informative seminars, autograph and Q&A sessions, theme nights, sporting contests and special land excursions while in port.

The Smooth Jazz Cruise is taking reservation now for past guests. Bookings for new guests begin Nov. 12.

Cabins are also still available for the previously announced 2013 outings, which are scheduled Jan. 13-20 and Jan. 20-27. The MS Westerdam departs Fort Lauderdale and then heads to Belize, Cozumel and Key West. Both January 2013 excursions feature hosts David Sanborn and Marcus Miller along with Brian Culbertson, Candy Dulfer, Jonathan Butler, Alonzo Bodden, Larry Braggs, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Ken Ford, Jeff Golub, Bob James, Brian Simpson, Angie Stone, Steve Cole, Paul Taylor, DW3 and special guest George Benson.
