First Act Announced For Grammy Nominations Concert Live

01:01 PM Wednesday 9/19/12 | |

This week’s announcement from The Recording Academy guarantees that Maroon 5 will take the stage for at least ‘one more night’ in the U.S. this year. By performing at “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live,” the band will get to find out in person whether its latest release is up for any awards.

Marking the first time the concert special had been held outside Los Angeles, the fifth annual “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! – Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” is scheduled Dec. 5 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

So far, Maroon 5 is the only act confirmed on the lineup, which will feature performances from Grammy winners and/or nominees.

Maroon 5, which won “best new artist” in 2005 as well as awards for “best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals” in 2006 and 2008, released its fourth studio album in June. Overexposed includes the singles “One More Night” and “Payphone.”

The Academy promises that additional performers and presenters will be revealed soon. And you can count on LL Cool J once again hosting the one-hour event.

Last year the Grammy Nominations Concert Live included performances from Rihanna, Usher, The Band Perry, Lady Gaga, Jason Aldean, Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco and Sugarland.

The 2012 concert will be broadcast on CBS from 10-11 p.m. EST/PST (9 p.m. CST). The 55th annual Grammy Awards take place a little more than two months later on Feb. 10 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

Pre-sale tickets for the Grammy Nominations Concert are on sale now for select VIPs. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Sept. 21.
