SoundLand Silenced

People holding tickets for this year’s SoundLand Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn., will have to find something else to do come the first weekend of October. That’s right, it’s been canceled.

With My Morning Jacket in the headlining slot, the Oct. 6 one-day festival at Music City’s Riverfront Park also had Young the Giant, Divine Fits and Nikki Lane on the lineup.

Why did organizers silence SoundLand? Apparently those ol’ circumstances beyond control played a part in the festival’s cancelation.

From Soundland’s website:

“We’ve been so excited to bring you an all-new, outdoor SoundLand experience in 2012 and have been working for months on creating a one-day extravaganza Oct. 6 at The Lawn At Riverfront Park. Unfortunately, issues out of everyone’s control have caused us to put this vision on hold until 2013.”

The posting on SoundLand’s website also says ticket holders will receive an email regarding refunds. Click here for more info.
