Pretty Lights Announces Year-End Plans

02:01 PM Tuesday 10/16/12 |   |

The electronic artist will partner with Bassnectar for two gigs in Virginia before playing his own shows in New York City, closing out 2012 in a mad flurry of dancing, lights and beats. Tickets go on sale this Friday.

Ultra Music Festival, Bayfront Park, Miami, Fla.

Pretty Lights and Bassnectar will head to Hampton, Va., for two nights at the city’s Coliseum, Dec. 28-29. Pretty Lights will close on one night, Bassnectar the other.

The shows will mark the first time the Hampton Coliseum has hosted an EDM event. Considering that The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Prince and Elvis have all played the venue at least once, it’s a good bet the facility’s staff can pretty much handle anything, including thousands of dancers celebrating the last days of the year.

The shows will take place right before Pretty Lights, aka Derek Vincent Smith, heads to the Big Apple for his year-ending gigs at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom. Advertised as “an Intimate Evening With Pretty Lights,” the gigs are scheduled for Dec. 30-31.

Tickets for Hampton and New York City go on sale Oct. 19. Visit PrettyLightsMusic.com for more info.
