After premiering in 2012, Buku will return for its second edition March 8-9 at New Orleans’ Mardi Gras World. Featuring a mix of EDM, hip hop and indie rock, Buku aims to provide an event for fans “tired of the mega-festival and wanting an intimate setting with close stage views and clear/loud audio.”
Along with all that loud music, the festival offers local food vendors, indigenous art exhibits and dozens of regional support acts performing between sets.
In addition to Kid Cudi, Calvin Harris and Primus, the lineup for “The Power Plant” main stage also includes Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Flux Pavilion, Lettuce, St. Lucia and Break Science.
“The Float Den,” which will be located inside a warehouse where Mardi Gras floats are manufactured, features STS9, a Nero DJ set, Zedd, Big Gigantic, R3hab and more.
“The Ballroom,” a sound-isolated sleek ballroom space located a few minutes away from the other stages, will feature Major Lazer, Best Coast, Datsik, Dillon Francis, Alt-J, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and more.
