Madonna Says “No Smoking”

12:01 PM Friday 12/21/12 |   |

If you ever find yourself in the audience during one of Madonna’s soundchecks, you better not light up a smoke. That is, unless you want the Material Girl to tear you a new one. Just ask a few of her nicotine-addicted fans in Chile.

While going through her soundcheck at Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile, Dec. 19, Madonna noticed a few people smoking cigarettes when the secondhand smoke wafted upward into her face, according to celeb chronicler TMZ.

“There are people smoking right now,” Madonna said. “No smoking.”

But it didn’t stop there. Madonna threatened to cancel the show if the people didn’t put out their smokes.

“If you’re going to smoke cigarettes, I’m not doing a show.”

But wait. There’s more.

“You don’t care about me? I don’t care about you. All right? Are we going to play that game? I’m not kidding. I can’t sing if you smoke … Entiendes?”

TMZ reports the smokers ceased their cancerous ways and the show went on as planned. Of course, come 30 years from now they’ll have Madonna to thank for their good health and clear lungs.
