Black Francis Has A Few Dates To Play

12:01 PM Monday 1/28/13 |   |

The Pixies guitarist/singer lines up a February tour with club stops in Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee, North Carolina and New Jersey.  Traveling with Reid Paley, Black Francis begins his trek next week.

The man whose birth name is Charles Thompson has used a few monikers throughout the years since forming the Pixies in 1986.  Appearing in that band as Black Francis, he recorded and toured as the “Frank Black” in Frank Black & The Catholics and has published songs under his birth name as well.  As Black Francis, Thompson recorded Bluefinger, his 2007 ode to Dutch punk musician/painter Herman Brood who committed suicide by jumping from a hotel roof in Amsterdam in 2001.

Other  releases under the Black Francis non-de-plume include 2010’s NonStopErotik, a 2011 collection of B-sides and demos dubbed Abbabubba and his score for the 1920 film, “The Golem.”
