Electric Daisy Sets 2013 New York Dates

We’ve got dates and a new location for Electric Daisy Carnival’s New York festival. After being held in East Rutherford, N.J., at the MetLife Stadium in 2012, the second edition of EDC New York will actually take place in the Big Apple.

Promising to “again create an unforgettable experience unlike any other show in the tri-state area,” EDC producer Insomniac announced today that the 2013 fest is scheduled May 17-18 at New York City’s Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.

The lineup for the 18+ event has not yet been revealed. But you can count on a “spectacular display of special effects, state-of-the-art lighting and sound as well as hundreds of theatrical performers, interactive art installations and pyrotechnics.”

The 2012 EDC New York featured dozens of acts including Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Sebastian Ingrosso, Calvin Harris, Afrojack and Bassnectar.

“Based on the tremendous success of the first EDC New York in 2012, there was no question that Insomniac would return to the loyal fans in New York who truly enjoy the multi-sensory experience that we create,” said Insomniac CEO, Pasquale Rotella.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 8 at 12 p.m. EST, priced at $159 for two-day general admission passes and $299 for the VIP treatment. Prices do not included service fees.

VIP tickets – limited to fans 21 and over – include a separate VIP entrance in the festival, access to exclusive VIP areas and viewing decks overlooking multiple stages, separate restroom facilities, and an Insomniac VIP lanyard and badge.

EDC is offering fans a layaway plan for both general admission and VIP tickets. A limited amount of single-day tickets will be available at a later date.

EDC New York is one of the events “on the road to Vegas” leading up to Sin City’s Electric Daisy Carnival June 21-23.
