Mick Taylor Cancels Australia Tour

03:31 PM Friday 2/22/13 |   |

Health issues have forced former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor to cancel his tour of Australia.  Taylor, whose 1974 departure from the Stones opened the door for Ron Wood joining the band, was supposed to play Down Under in April.

The announcement issued today by Australia’s Lennard Promotions doesn’t give many details, saying only that Taylor’s “current ill health” caused the cancelation and that fans can seek ticket refunds at points of purchase.  Lennard Promotions also said it hopes “another tour with Mick can be arranged sometime in the future.”

Taylor recently gigged with his former bandmates during The Rolling Stones’ 50th Anniversary shows in London and Newark, N.J.
