Another Set Of Shows For The Black Crowes

11:01 AM Tuesday 3/5/13 |   |

As fans count down the days until The Black Crowes return from its hiatus later this month, the band has added another leg of U.S. dates in May, as well as a round of European gigs in June and July.

Along with the launch of the “Lay Down With Number 13” tour, March is also the month for the release of The Black Crowes’ upcoming live collection. Wiser For The Time is due out March 19 on Silver Aarow/Megaforce Records. This week the band premiered a track from the album – its cover of Bob Dylan’s classic tune “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You.”

“The Black Crowes have always covered a lot of Bob’s song,” frontman Chris Robinson said. “The songs I feel like singing of his are always my favorites. In my mind, this great tapestry of music we are involved in cannot be weaved without sharing Bob’s mighty threads!”

The “Lay Down With Number 13” tour kicks off with a string of U.K. dates scheduled March 24-30. The U.S. tour begins with two nights in Port Chester, N.Y., at The Capitol Theatre April 2-3. Previously announced U.S. gigs are booked through May 4. An announcement from the band’s PR folks reports that of the 26 previously announced U.K. and U.S. headline gigs, 20 dates are sold out so far.

That being said, you won’t want to wait too long to get tickets for the new leg of dates. Here is the U.S. itinerary:

May 19 – North Myrtle Beach, S.C., House Of Blues
May 21 – Chattanooga, Tenn., Track 29
May 23 – Lake Charles, La., L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles
May 24 – Baton Rouge, La., L’Auberge Casino & Hotel Baton Rouge Event Center
May 25 – Catoosa, Okla., The Joint @ Hard Rock Casino / Tulsa
May 28 – Peoria, Ill., Peoria Civic Center Theater
May 31 – Kansas City, Mo., Harrah’s North Kansas City

Tickets go on sale March 8 at 10 a.m. local time.

The European dates are scheduled June 18 through July 4, with headline shows in Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. Tickets are on sale now.

U.S. Festival appearances include Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis; BottleRock Napa Valley in Napa, Calif.; The Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival in Gulf Shores, Ala.; Wakarusa Festival in Ozark, Ark., and The Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pa.

The Black Crowes have European festival appearances lined up at Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria, Spain; Pistoia Blues Festival in Pistoia, Italy and Hard Rock Calling in London.
