George Strait Announces 2014 Dates

George Strait still has shows to play.  The country music legend announced the second leg of his final two-year tour during a press conference at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium.  With each weekend stop featuring a special guest star, presales and general onsales launch later this month.

What kind of guest stars will join Strait on this epic farewell to the road?  Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, Chris Young and others are set to perform on select weekend dates, their appearances to be revealed by a “tweet to unlock” campaign.

While the 2014 dates are being called the “final leg” of Strait’s “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” that doesn’t mean he’ll retire from performing.  Post-tour plans call for Strait to do the occasional show as well as release new music. He’s just bidding adieu to full-blown touring adventures.
