Dylan Fest In NYC & San Francisco

12:01 PM Friday 10/25/13 |   |

Next month is devoted to celebrating the music of Bob Dylan, with Best Fests planned on both sides of the country. Dylan Fest returns to the Big Apple for two nights marking its 13th annual New York edition, followed by the event’s debut in San Francisco.

Earlier this year Best Fest expanded overseas with Dylan Fest Dublin. Plus, Petty Fest was held in Austin and San Francisco while Stones Fest took place in NYC and Los Angeles. Now it’s time for Dylan’s tunes to take the spotlight once again.

The New York festivities are scheduled Nov. 11-12 at the Bowery Ballroom. The lineup features The Black KeysPatrick Carney, Doyle Bramhell II, Jason Isbell, Dhani Harrison, Erika Wennerstrom of Heartless Bastards, Elvis Perkins, Ruby Amanfu, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and Tad Kubler, Jesse Malin, Grouplove, Danny Clinch, Matt Sweeney, Amanda Shires, Chase Cohl, Jack Dishel of Only Son and more. Select acts are only playing Nov. 12.

The inaugural Dylan Fest San Francisco is set for Nov. 20 at the Great American Music Hall with a lineup made up of Doyle Bramhall II, Sly and The Family Stone’s Cynthia Robinson and Jerry Martini, Heartless Bastards’ Erika Wennerstrom, Elvis Perkins, Ruby Amanfu, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and Tad Kubler, Midlake’s Eric Pulido, Chuck Prophet, Nicki Bluhm, Boots Riley and more.

Cabin Down Below Band will once again be your hosts for the evening, backing all performances at both events. And you can expect a few surprises because Best Fest promises to continue its tradition of bringing in a few special guest stars.

Best Fest donates all ticket proceeds to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to musicians in need. The organization helps musicians suffering from illness, disability or age-related problems.

Tickets are on sale now.
