Sharon Osbourne announced last month that Black Sabbath’s appearance at Ozzfest Japan Nov. 22 would be the band’s “farewell.”  Now it appears the pioneering rock band won’t be there to say its goodbyes.

A message posted by the band on its Facebook page is brief and to the point: “Despite previous reports, Black Sabbath will not appear on this year’s Ozzfest Japan, the show will instead feature the festival’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends).”

No other information is available at this time.

Scheduled for Nov. 21-22 at Chiaba’s Makuhari Messe, Ozzfest Japan will host Korn Nov. 21. Click here for the official website.
