Described as an “urban lifestyle festival,” Bay Area Vibez makes its debut at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park Sept 26-27. The lineup also includes Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Jo Mersa Marley, Fiji, Fishbone, Krooked Treez, Richie Spice, I Wayne, Queen Omega, Ghetto Youths, The Courtney John Project, Skip Marley, Black Am I, plus a few surprises just to keep you on your toes. Local favorite Forrest Day is also scheduled to perform. Expect a complete lineup to be announced next week.
Along with lots of great music, Bay Area Vibez will offer a silent disco, on-stage live art, local artisans and food selections reflective of the area. Festival founders include Oakland native Tressa Wells and Damian Marley tour manager Albert “Pretty” Cooke.
“Keeping the music alive for the next generations is key,” Wells said. “Collectively, we need to support the creative flow of our children and open their eyes to a new world filled with creativity and a universal appreciation for diversity.”
