California Roots Announces Full 2016 Lineup

California Roots Music & Arts Festival is welcoming back several fest favorites, including Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Michael Franti and Spearhead, and Pepper. This week the fest unveiled its third and final artist announcement, with a few more weeks to go before ticket prices increase.

The 7th annual edition takes place May 27-29 at the Monterey Country Fair and Event Center.

The third round of acts also features the return of Barrington Levy, J Boog, Mike Love, The Wheeland Brothers, and Katastro. California Roots has lined up debut performances from Raging Fyah, Will and The People, Jordan T., South Bay Dub All Stars, and The Ole’s. Plus, you’ll get DJ sets from Amp Live, Expanders Sound System, Dub Architect, and Westafa.

Previously announced artists include Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Atmosphere, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Tribal Seeds, The Expendables, The Green, Stick Figure, Protoje, Katchafire, Tarrus Riley, Gondwana, Fortunate Youth, The Skints, Nattali Rize, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, and more.

“2016 is definitely our strongest California Roots lineup to date,” says festival co-producer Dan Sheehan. “As the scene and music continue to evolve and diversify, we are proud to be able to showcase a spectrum of talent with the biggest names in roots music, alongside breaking artists year after year.” 

He adds “Our fans and community have come to expect top notch music alongside a unique experience that supports green initiatives, while embracing beautiful art, delicious food and spirits, and positive vibes.  This year is no exception and promises to raise the bar in all the details that makes our festival successful.”
