Sweet sounds and grub will abound in Charlotte, S.C. as the city will host the Zac Brown Band’s fifth annual Southern Ground Music & Food Festival this year April 16-17.

The festival will feature country, rock, bluegrass acts including Thomas Rett, Marshall Tucker Band, Cam, and Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers.

The event is a celebration of Southern culture and will include the work of Pastry Chef Nicole Crane and guest chef Michael Perez as well as the event’s Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin.

Saturday, April 16: Thomas Rhett, The Marshall Tucker Band, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Sam Bush, Old Dominion, Coy Bowles & The Fellowship, Cam, Drake White and The Big Fire, John Driskell Hopkins, Jamestown Revival

Organizers of the AFROPUNK festival announced today that for the second year the event will be held in Paris. Scheduled June 3-5 at Le Trianon, the event will feature live music, visual art, food and additional events before and after the performances.

Organizers are collaborating with French production team Nous Production for the event. Performing at the event will be Michael Kiwanuka, Saul Williams, Angel Haze, Féfé, Cakes Da Killa, Lizzo, The Suffers, Carving, Samm Henshaw, Karol Conka, The OBGMs and Ghost Nebula.

An additional event associated with the festival, dubbed “Race Music,” will be held in Paris on March 22. This event will explore modern African-American history, and the culture’s influence on music, through a film screening and musical performance.

The 30th annual Green River Festival will be held in Greenfield, Mass. with space available for camping and RV accommodations for the first time. Slated for July 8-10, the event will feature musical performances on three stages, food, a dance tent and children’s activities on over 40 acres of camping area.

Hot air balloons, an oft-noted feature associated with the festival, will add a touch of adventure to the weekend.

Early bird tickets are available until March 4. After March 4, tickets range from $25 for Friday only to $119.99 for the full weekend. Alabama concertgoers can once again expect some hot music, as the Sloss Music & Arts Festival will be returning to the Birmingham’s Sloss Furnaces for two days of indie and alternative rock.

The second annual event will be from July 16-17 and if the environment is similar to last year, temperatures may rise very high.

Performers include Ryan Adams, Death Cab For Cutie, Ray LaMontagne and Friends, The Flaming Lips, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, The Arcs, Grouplove, Fitz And the Tantrums, Logic, Glass Animals, Dr. Dog and many more.

Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers are organizing the inaugural Funhouse Fest in his hometown pf Williamsburg, Va. on June 24-26.

The event will be held at the Lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, and will feature nightly performances from Hornsby along with other blues, bluegrass and rock acts.

Hornsby will play an additional show to generate enthusiasm at Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall at the College of William and Mary on Thursday, June 23. Benefits from this show will be donated to local charities.

Performances on Friday will be by Greensky Bluegrass along with Ricky Skaggs and  Hornsby with Kentucky Thunder. Saturday Shows will feature Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, Railroad Earth and Jack DeJohnette who will be performing with Ravi Coltrane and Matt Garrison.

Now entering its 14th year, Camp Bisco will once again be drawing electronic music enthusiasts up Montage Mountain in Scranton, Penn. July 14-16.

The festival features different kinds of electronic music and is headlined by Philidelphia-based jam band Disco Biscuits.
