Coldplay, Goulding At First Global Citizen Festival in Germany

For the first time in its five-year history, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s Global Citizen Festival is coming to Germany, July 6, at Hamburg’s Barclaycard Arena

Coldplay, Ellie GouldingThe Chainsmokers and German singer-songwriter icon Herbert Grönemeyer will take the stage, among others.

The concert takes place one day before world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, meet in Hamburg for the G20 summit.

The aim is to get the politicians to act on issues such as health, women’s rights, education, health and food safety, access to clean drinking water, poverty and the current refugee crisis.

Barclaycard Arena has a capacity of 16,000. While tickets in different categories are on sale via Ticketmaster, 9,000 tickets will be given out for free starting March 14 to anyone able to prove they’ve been politically active in the above-mentioned areas.
