The Strokes show (billed all ages 8:00pm) began with 2 poor bands, followed by a 30 minute delay. The Strokes played 7 songs from 10:09pm untill 10:53pm, during which time the microphone failed, as well as the lighting in the venue. Acoustics were poor and the Strokes left the audience with no thank you and no encore. For $27.50 this was definetly not worth the price for a poor show from a great band in a horrible venue.

sloan opened. which sort of sucked - they're a band that is mediocre live to describe best. i have no doubt that a smaller crowd would have appreciated their energy more. now the strokes - also a band that thrives on energy. but these guys are amazing, they are definetly worthy of their successes. maybe once in a while they should play smaller venues - fans could experience their stage presense. finally, julian casablancas has the most beautiful voice. and it was able to penetrate the whole audience with an incredible intimacy.
