And to think, I almost didn't go.

Sammy and Co totally blew the place away. He still has such a strong voice. The energy within the band is so evident. You can see that they are out to have a lot of fun with this thing. If you haven't heard their CD, get it, and go to their show. Satriani is amazing on guitar. There is no way to describe it. You can't get that from just listening. You will miss it. As many times as I have listened to the CD what you hear and what you see are two completely different things. At first listen you think "nice and somewhat average". You have to see it. I've seen some pretty good guitarists in my day and I play some too, (not enough to be good :)) so i would like to think that there's a different level of appreciation here. I still can't describe what I saw. Just incredible. Probably better than you know who. Seriously.

Don't expect any VH tunes or Sammy solo stuff except for one great encore tune that I won't mention by name. It's strictly Chickenfoot rock n roll. But, if you get the CD and prepare yourself, you're going to see one heck of a show. As Sammy says, get your favorite buzz on!!!!!!

The Fillmore Auditorium. As one of the 9-date "Road Test Tour" stops, the Fillmore was a great venue to see this new "Super Group" have a bunch of fun while performing their all the tunes from their forthcoming release.

The band {Sammy Hagar (Montrose, Van Halen) on vocals, Joe Satriani on guitar, Michael Anthony (Van Halen) on bass and Chad Smith (The Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums} really had a good time - and most certainly the 1,100 folks in attendance did to!

Sammy still shows that he can ROCK - trading riffs with Joe Satriani on Bad Motor Scooter, bring back memories of the Montrose days! The solid performance by Michael Anthony was impressive. But, Chad Smith on drums - now that was just amazing. These guys commented on the fact that they 'feel' like they've been playing together for years - and their performance really seemed as if they had. Cranking out some fresh new Rock-N-Roll tunes - and having a great time doing so - really got the crowd into the show...

As impressive as the Fillmore Auditorium was, I'm looking forward to catching "The Foot" on their 30+ date tour of the USA after their month long European tour...
