I admit, having consistently seen the Gabe Dixon Band perform for their hometown crowd of rowdy college kids who like to dance and sing along at top volume, I may be a bit biased when it comes to show atmosphere - but I can guarantee that whether they're playing for 40 people or 400 people, a GDB show is NOT to be missed. I have never seen a band give as much in live performance as these guys do. Effortlessly fading from rock to jazz, funk to bluegrass, the Gabe Dixon Band blends and bends their genres with a jammy smoothness that alternately soothes and excites the listener. Each band member truly gives his all. As other reviewers have said, there is no ego here, each talent is both showcased on its own and used to elevate the other performers. I highly recommend checking out the Gabe Dixon Band the next time they're in your town.
