Last night my husband took me to see Gavin Rossdale at the Showbox in Seattle. I have to say that I didn't really have any expectations. I always enjoyed his music when he was with Bush, but know little of his solo work. I am happy to say I was blown away by his performance. When he first opened he seemed to be a little distant from the audience - he almost appeared uncomfortable. After he admitted that the Seattle show was the first on the tour and that he didn't know what to expect, things changed quickly and for the better. I guess he just needed to get the apprehension off his chest. The set was a mix of old Bush standards mixed with a lot of his new solo stuff. By the end of the set the he and the audience were fully engaged and going nuts. I am so glad I went last night. I have new found appreciation for Gavin Rossdale as a musician and song writer. I hope more people take the opportunity to go see him perform. At the age of 44 he still hot and definitely a rock star.
