The star power alone behind this show was amazing. Along with Bright Eyes there was also the Good Life, Azure Ray, and Now It's Overhead, almost all of Saddle Creek was in attendence. The show started with Now It's Overhead who I had heard a little of before hand, they are one of those bands you should hear live before hearing their CD's. Next Azure Ray was up, built out of most of Now It's Overhead (for those of you not familiar with Saddle Creek bands, they are all in several different bands on the label). The crowd for these girls sucked, the fuckers wouldn't shut-up. You could hear them over the music. And to present more problems the leader singer was sick during the performence. She aplogized for her voice sounding so horse, but i didn't notice, she sounded beautiful. And was beautiful it's easy to say I feel in love while she was on stage. Then the Good Life took the stage who had obviously drank quite a few drinks before the show. Yet they rocked the hizz house, playing both of my favorite songs off of both albums, Your Birthday Present and O'Rourkes 1:20 A.M. Tim Kasher (leader singer) even presented one person at the front of the stage with the gift of playing his guiter. Then Bright Eyes took the stage and everyone grew silent. Conor Oberst started alone on stage, with two yellow lights right on him, singing Going for the Gold (I think). Then the whole 11 peice orchastra, composed of the other bands that played early, and they began to rock. As the show progressed the alcohol began to take a stronger hold and they would take ten minute breaks in between songs play fighting with each other. And you couldn't help notice Conor and my love from Azure Ray flirting with each other through out the show, if it was anyone else but you Conor i'd be pissed off. Then to end the show they played Let's Not Shit Each Other (to love and be loved) in which Conor feel over onto the drum set, knocking the bass drum mike over. They then left and went back stage while the crowd demanded for an encore. Which I didn't think would ever come, I just figured Conor had passed out in the back. Yet, he came out and tried and played a new song but forgot it half way through tried again and finally said fuck. So he went back stage and got the rest of the band out there to play An Attempt to Tip the Scales, which was really there mood of the night. In the end I think the whole band was to drunk to really remember they were here. I'm guessing they were pissed at the crowd for being assholes during Azure Ray, so they decided to get really drunk and forget about it. To sum up the concert, seeing Bright Eyes and the Good Life really makes you wanna get drunk, so I think that's what I'm going to go do. Goodnight and Goodmorning.
